In Texas… where EVERYTHING is BIG, Terri Jaggers, fulfills her role as wife, community leader and mother in Texas fashion. Terri married her best friend PAT just 16 days after they met, and have been married 23 years. Together, they have been a part of the National Foster Care system, fostering 24 children and adopting 5 children, in addition to their own.
A former foster child herself, Terri understands all aspects of our Nation's foster care system and is a frequent motivational and keynote speaker empowering others to understand their own talents and abilities in volunteerism. Terri’s work with the Texas Legislature has brought about significant changes to ensure every Texas child has the opportunity to live in a safe and permanent home. Terri is a leader in the development of "National Adoption Day" as well as other programs that better and assist in caring for foster children throughout the USA. Terri was a Houston 2007 Jefferson Award Winner and was honored the 2008 Ambassador of Purpose award, with her husband by The Arrow Project. She has extended her work as a Missionary to an orphanage in Costa Rica and one day expects to assist in international adoptions.
Terri is a "working queen", making a full-time commitment to the causes dear to her heart and life. One of her passions is helping women who face mid-life understand the benefits of bio-identical hormones and a natural daily supplementation program to their health and wellness.
At 47 years old, Terri would tell you that she is just beginning to understand her purpose and trumpets "empty nesters" to return to their youth by engaging in new dreams for themselves. For her, it was a return to college where she completed her Bachelor of Science, during her reign, from the University of Houston - Downtown in May, 2008. Terri is currently pursuing her Masters in Speech Communication at Sam Houston State University and working on her book entitled "America's Foster Care System 2010".
Terri is a successful and honored business woman and community leader, but says NONE of her honors or awards compare to the satisfaction, of seeing her SIX children, successfully pursuing their own college educations, careers and hearts-desires with INTEGRITY and CONVICTION to their faith in God.
With an abundant heart, positive mental attitude, and following the biblical principle that “to whom much is given, much is required”, Terri inspires all who know her.
