June 2007 (click on photos to view additional photos)
As June begins, I was hoping for a little respite from the grind of previous months.  I am not sure there will be much "calm" before the Summer JAM begins, but... "What a summer it is going to be!"  With dozens of wonderful and meaningful appearances scheduled this month, I continually find myself focusing on my JAM PACKED July.  The events in New York and Las Vegas are sure to be some of the most memorable of the year.

With Father's Day this month, my mind wanders to the cherished memories of my Dad and the honor I feel, being married to such a wonderful man/father, Pat.  I tell my kids that 98% of lifes happiness or misery is determined by ONE decision we make in life.  That decision is "Who we choose to marry".  I am very fortunate that for 23 years, my husband, and the father of our children is also my best friend.  My heart's desire is that each of our children will also experience such a relationship as they make their own life's paths.

This month has already produced such great experiences, including the development of a new friendship with the Mayor of Conroe Texas who has graciously introduced me to several key individuals who are assisting me now in making sure that Montgomery County's National Adoption Day festivities are the biggest and best in the Nation.  Our committe has been meeting and we have even done a "Mini Adoption Day" this month to educate and prepare the courts, security, sponsors, volunteers etc., for the big day in November!  The USAP Princesses donated bears for the Mini-Adoption Day (pictured) to be given to the children adopted.  The festivities also included professional photographs of the new families, roses for the new mothers, a gift bag for the family that included coloring and activity books for the entire family to enjoy while waiting, a disposable camera, 5x7 picture frame, candle, chocolates, refreshments following the consumations and a LOT of happy tears!  It was a GREAT day as we were able (with the AMAZING help of Pat doing all the legal work and the support and teamwork of the Montgomery County CPS caseworkers and CASA volunteers) to consumate 9 more adoptions that day!

Well, I need to get back to work, there is so much to do and July is scheduled to be a very busy month indeed!
